Real Life Choices Transit provides pre-scheduled, door-to-door transportation for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our primary focus is ensuring clients arrive safely and reliably to their daily programs, activities, or appointments.
Our fleet consists mostly of minivans that seat 6 to 7 passengers. Please note: our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible, so we are unable to accommodate individuals with significant physical disabilities at this time.
We pick up each passenger from their residence, usually right from the driveway when possible, and make every effort to arrive on time. If a client is running late, we allow a reasonable wait time and will attempt to contact a caregiver before leaving. Our priority is ensuring no one is left behind.
When dropping clients off—whether at their destination or back at home—we remain with the individual until they are safely inside, or in the care of a responsible staff member, family member, or caregiver. When needed, our drivers will personally escort clients to ensure a safe transfer.
We operate Monday through Friday, year-round, typically between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Transportation outside of these hours, including evenings or weekends, may be available under special arrangements.
Although we are sometimes referred to as a “taxi service,” we are not an on-demand or ride-share service. Most of our rides are scheduled in advance and part of a regular routine. That said, we are happy to discuss unique or one-time transportation needs and will do our best to accommodate special requests.
Clients typically ride with the same group of passengers and the same driver each day. We design our routes to be consistent and efficient, minimizing time in transit while maintaining predictability in pick-up and drop-off times.
